Who We Are

ShouldIMoveApp.com ("we," "us," or "our") is a cost-of-living and salary comparison tool for U.S. cities. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

By using ShouldIMoveApp.com, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the site.

Information We Collect

Usage and Analytics Data. We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymized information about how visitors interact with the site. This includes:

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

User Inputs. The city, job, and salary selections you make in the comparison tool are processed in your browser. We do not store individual comparison inputs on our servers at this time; however, aggregate patterns derived from analytics (e.g., which city pairs are most frequently compared) are captured through Google Analytics.

Account and Payment Data (Pro subscribers). If you subscribe to ShouldIMoveApp Pro, we collect your email address and payment information. Payment processing is handled by a third-party processor; we do not store full credit card numbers. We retain your email address for account management, product updates, and marketing communications related to our services.

Communications. If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence to respond to your inquiry and to improve our service.

How We Use Your Information

Data Sharing and Sale

We may share or sell data in the following circumstances:

Aggregated and De-identified Data. We may share, license, or sell aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified data about usage patterns — such as which cities are most frequently compared, which professions users research, or regional relocation trends — with third parties including research organizations, real estate companies, employers, and data analytics firms. This data does not identify individual users.

Service Providers. We share data with trusted vendors who help us operate the site (e.g., hosting, analytics, payment processing). These vendors are contractually restricted from using your data for their own purposes.

Business Transfers. If ShouldIMoveApp.com is acquired, merged, or its assets are sold, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

Legal Requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

We do not sell personal information such as your name, email address, or payment information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for analytics. You can control cookie behavior through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some functionality. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking via the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
